What happened in this Pittsburg incident?

Earlier in November, Nicholas Najeski was driving the wrong way down Jacksonia Street. That was when he slammed head-on into a Pittsburgh police vehicle.

Police say that Najeski tried to escape in his vehicle but was quickly apprehended. According to the criminal complaint against him, Najeski has red and blood-shot eyes and smelled of alcohol. Police say they also found a marijuana pipe on him. Najeski was also driving under a suspended license.

The police officer who was struck by Najeski was taken to the hospital due to a neck injury as a result of the crash.

Nicholas Najeski is facing a range of charges, including DUI, an accident involving damage to a vehicle, as well as illegally operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device. This signifies that he has recently been arrested and convicted of a DUI charge.
